Environmental Health Division

The Division of Environmental Health seeks to enhance the quality of life in Will County through implementation of environmental health programs that protect public health and safety, improve the environment and reduce the risks associated with the spread of communicable disease. In order to accomplish its mission, the division enforces local, state, and federal environmental laws related to food safety, public swimming pools and beaches, wells and private septic systems, body art and tanning facilities. The entire Will County community benefits from the Division of Environmental Health’s programs because they assure that people in the community have access to safe food and clean water for both consumption and bathing while enjoying the sense of security that comes from knowing that responsible authority is monitoring the spread and incidence of West Nile Virus.
