Immunizations can protect you and your family from serious diseases such as tetanus, measles, chickenpox and pneumonia.  People of all ages should make sure they are current with their vaccinations.  The Will County Health Department regularly offers immunization clinics at three convenient locations.  Please note that hours vary at each location and some clinic locations are by appointment only.

Reach out and Read program featured on ABC Channel 7 - 'Spirit of Giving' Segment.

Dr. Melanie Harris-Smith, M.D., F.A.A.P., introduces a brand new book at her patient's well-check exam. The "Reach out and Read" program is part of a national partnership among physicians and was featured on ABC Channel 7 - Spirit of Giving segment. At every "well child" visit at the Will County Community Health Center, doctors give patients a new story book to take home.

Health Department Offering Adult and Children's Flu Vaccines

Shots Available in Joliet, Bolingbrook and University Park

The Will County Health Department Immunization Clinic is now offering walk-in seasonal flu vaccinations for adults and children at its 1106 Neal Avenue site in Joliet.  Walk-in shots are available each Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Vaccine is also available Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m., and Thursdays from 1-6 p.m.  Friday hours are 8:30 a.m.-noon; no shots are available on the fourth Friday monthly.
