The mission of the Will County Community Health Center is to improve the health of the residents of Will County by providing access to quality medical and dental care through community collaboration, service and education.
The Will County Community Health Center has been caring for the under insured and uninsured residents of Will County since 1996. The Center received its' Federal designation in May 2001 and evolved from the Clinic Service Division of the Will County Health Department, replacing fragmented clinic care with holistic primary care services.
As the oldest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Will County, WCCHC is dedicated to its role as a safety net provider, serving all residents regardless of age, race, national origin or ability to pay. Multidisciplinary care is provided six days a week with two evening sessions, plus 24 hour physician accountability. Services include General Medicine, Woman's Services, STD/ HIV, Immunization, Laboratory and Dentistry. Charges are based on a sliding fee scale.
The Center is strategically located in the heart of the east side of Joliet at 1106 Neal Avenue. Since the Center's inception basic barriers to primary health care have been eliminated.
This Health Center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 245b, & an FTCA deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
