WILL COUNTY SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION COALITION ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER EVENT

 On Tuesday, September 5th; the Will County Substance and Abuse and Prevention Coalition (WCSAPC) will be presenting a 4 PM to 7 PM forum for both students and parents in the Joliet West High School Auditorium.

This event is designed as a forum for parents and students entitled "Be in the Know." The plan calls for an "engaging and informative discussion on alcohol, narcotics, and the dangerous facts."

Will County Sheriff Mike Kelley will be the moderator. Speakers will include Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow, and TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities) Director of Clinical Services Dianna Feeney.

Speakers from the sports world will include former Chicago Bulls head coach Doug Collins; former U of I basketball player and current Vanderbilt Associate head coach Roger Powell, Jr; former Chicago Bears lineman and current announcer Tom Thayer; and New Creation Church Pastor Jolinda Wade, the mother of NBA player Dwayne Wade.

The Will County Sheriff's "In Plain Sight Trailer" will be available for a walk through and questions, and a question and answer session between the audience and speakers is scheduled as well.

The Will County Health Department is a member of the Will County Substance Abuse Prevention and Coalition.
