Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance   Even with Open Enrollment 2015 officially over, there may still be opportunities to get you and your family health coverage. But do not wait until it’s too late. Call the Will County Health Department’s In-Person Counselor (IPC) program to check if you can still get coverage. 1-815-727-5990.

Paid the tax penalty this year for not having health coverage in 2014? If you call us before April 30, 2015 you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to purchase health coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace for 2015. Avoid any further penalties and call today.

Did you experience a “qualifying life event” in the last 60 days? If so, you could qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to purchase health coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace. Qualifying life events include:

  • Getting married
  • Having a baby, adopting a child or placing a child for adoption or foster care
  • Moving outside your insurer’s coverage areaGaining citizenshipLeaving incarceration
  • Gaining status as a member of an Indian tribe (all members of federally recognized tribes can sign up for or change plans once per month throughout the year)
  • Involuntarily losing other health coverage due to losing job-based coverage, divorce, the end of an insurance plan in the individual market, COBRA expiration, aging off a parent’s plan, losing eligibility for Medicaid or All Kids, and other similar circumstances
  • For people already enrolled in a Marketplace plan: Having a change in household status or income that affects eligibility for financial help 

Please note you only have 60 days, from the date the qualifying event took place, to purchase coverage on the Marketplace. Call now to meet with an In-Person Counselor who can help you through the application process.            

Think you qualify for Medicaid (medical card)? There is no deadline to enroll. Applications are accepted all year round. We can help you apply anytime.
