It has now been two years since the Will County Health Department opened their Eastern Branch Office (EBO) at 5601 W Monee-Manhattan Road in Monee. It opened in June of 2015, replacing the Health Departments previous eastern facility in University Park.
EBO operates at the intersection of Monee-Manhattan Road and Egyptian Trail, less and a half-mile east of Interstate 57. EBO provides easy access for residents of Crete, Frankfort, Green Garden, Monee, Peotone, Washington, and Will Townships. EBO features four-thousand square feet of working space; with separate entrances for Behavioral Health, Environmental Health, and Family Health Services clients.
Behavioral Health offers adult services at the Eastern Branch location on Mondays and Thursdays. Child and adolescent services are available on Thursdays only. The Health Department’s central intake phone number can be reached at 815-727-8521. In addition, the Screening Assessment for Support Services (SASS) program is available 24/7. With the SASS program, a member of the Behavioral Health Staff can be dispatched to locations such as emergency rooms, schools, or police stations to assess the condition of a child and determine if hospitalization is necessary. Those in need of SASS program assistant can call the “Cares Line” at 800-345-9049.
Environmental Health offers all services available at the main branch location in Joliet. Residents may drop off private well samples for testing, submit temporary event food service applications, apply for septic and well permits, and also purchase radon test kits for their homes.
Available Family Health services include: APORS-High Risk Infants Follow-up, Breastfeeding Peer Counseling, HIV testing, Immunizations, and the Women and Infant Children Nutrition and Education (WIC) Program.
