Psychiatric

If you receive services from us you will probably see one of our psychiatrists, a medical doctor who specializes in helping people who suffer from illnesses such as depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorders. The psychiatrist will talk with you and determine if there are medications which could help you to feel better. If there are, the psychiatrist will give you a prescription for the medications and then see you on a regular basis to make sure the medications are working.

The psychiatrist works closely with our nurses who will also see you to make sure you are doing as well as you can be. The nurses may also help you with certain medications that must be given with a needle. Our nurses know a lot about the different medications the doctors prescribe and they can answer many of your questions. They can also help our clients by giving them sample medications and by helping them join special programs to receive medications for a reduced price or for free.
