Crisis Response

This program provides telephone and walk-in intake screening for those Will County residents who are requesting services in the Mental Health, Forensics and Addictions Division. Referral services are also provided to the community. Certain intake criteria for each program are considered in deciding appropriateness for a given service. Mental Health Services are generally limited to those with chronic severe illness. Couples treatment and a primary problem of anxiety are not covered services. Forensic services are limited to certain court ordered domestic violence and sexual abuse perpetrator programs. Addictions services are limited to certain outpatient services. Crisis intervention services are provided for those clients we are currently actively serving as "open" cases. 24 hour/day adult pre-admission screening services to state mental health hospitals are provided at Silver Cross Hospital and Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. During business hours this service is accessed through the Crisis Response program. After hours it is accessed through Crisis Line of Will County. (Pre-admission screening services for children for whom state hospitalization is being sought is through the CARES line at 800-345-9049)

Contact 815-727-8521 and select option #2 during business hours (8:30 am-4:00 pm weekdays) for mental health and addictions treatment intake and information. For emergency advice after business hours, contact Crisis Line of Will County at 815-722-3344.
