Crisis Response
This program provides telephone and walk-in intake screening for those Will County residents who are requesting services in the Mental
Health, Forensics and Addictions Division. Referral services are also provided to the community. Certain intake criteria for each program are
considered in deciding appropriateness for a given service. Mental Health Services are generally limited to those with chronic severe illness.
Couples treatment and a primary problem of anxiety are not covered services. Forensic services are limited to certain court ordered domestic
violence and sexual abuse perpetrator programs. Addictions services are limited to certain outpatient services. Crisis intervention services are
provided for those clients we are currently actively serving as "open" cases. 24 hour/day adult pre-admission screening services to state mental
health hospitals are provided at Silver Cross Hospital and Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. During business hours this service is accessed
through the Crisis Response program. After hours it is accessed through Crisis Line of Will County. (Pre-admission screening services for children
for whom state hospitalization is being sought is through the CARES line at 800-345-9049)
