POSITION: Sanitarian I, II, or III
DIVISION: Environmental Health
WAGES: Sanitarian I Grade 12 Hourly Wages: ($15.54-$26.11)
Sanitarian II Grade 13 Hourly Wages: ($17.27-$29.01)
Sanitarian III Grade 14 Hourly Wages: ($19.19-$32.23)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Under immediate supervision of the Division Director. Duties include retail food and food service sanitation, sewage disposal, water supplies, swimming pools, bathing beaches, solid waste disposal, and nuisance control.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Sanitarian I: Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or related field, with a minimum of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter hours in biological and/or physical sciences.

Sanitarian II: Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or related field, and be registered as a Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner in accordance with the provision of the Illinois Licensed Environmental Health Practitioners Act, by the State of Illinois or reciprocal State required.

Sanitarian III: Accredited Master’s degree in Environmental Health or related field, and be registered as a Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner, in accordance with the provisions of the Licensed Environmental Health Practitioners Act, by the State of Illinois or reciprocal State required; or Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or related field, and be registered as a Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner, in accordance with the provisions of the Licensed Environmental Health Practitioners Act, by the State of Illinois or reciprocal State required and have a minimum of four (4) years experience in the environmental health field.
