POSITION:	Reimbursement Specialist
DIVISION:	Community Health Center
WAGES:	Grade 10 Hourly Wages ($13.72 - $23.05)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:	Responsible position reporting to the assigned Division/Department Head; through intermediate supervisors, as directed or required. Maximizes receipt of revenue through training, problem solving, advanced knowledge of health service, billing and payer requirements, and implementation of quality assurance systems in billing procedures and collections. Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding and payer requirements in the area of medical services. Maintains knowledge of the department's computerized billing system and identifies and corrects complex billing errors. Prepares regular reports on deposits and unentered payments to assure quality of system procedures. Ensures accuracy of computer generated reports. Assists with new staff training and serves as information resource. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:	High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred. Five (5) years experience in medical office/third party billing setting.
REQUIREMENTS:	Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, and proof of minimum car liability insurance. Verification of employment eligibility or U.S. citizenship. Health Department support staff testing required for each applicant.
DESIRED:	Bilingual Spanish skills and some evening and weekend hours required.
