Asthma Initiative
The Will County Asthma Initiative was established in April 2000 with several small grants from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Funding is currently provided for the purpose of developing an asthma network in Will and Kankakee counties. The purpose of the Network is
to serve as a clearinghouse for local, regional, and national asthma resources.
The mission of the Will and Kankakee County Asthma Network is to provide a format for information and resource sharing among asthma
providers, consumers, and service agencies in Will and Kankakee counties. Through sharing of information, collaboration is encouraged among
members in raising the awareness in the community about asthma and enhancing the quality of life for people with asthma.
The focus for this initiative is to raise asthma
awareness to the general population and provide asthma control education to asthmatics and their families.
