Volunteer Opportunities
Reach Out and Read
The WCCHC is committed to making books part of a healthy childhood. The WCCHC is involved in the ROR National Pediatric Literacy Program. ROR is a program that promotes early literacy by bringing new books and advice about the importance of reading aloud into the pediatric exam room. Our Doctors and nurses give new books to our pediatric patients at each well child visit from 6 months of age to 5 years, and accompany these books with developmentally appropriate advice to parents about reading aloud with their child.

Project ♥ Linus
"Providing Security Through Blankets". The WCCHC is involved with a truly wonderful enabling service, Project ♥ Linus, a 100% volunteer non-profit organization. Its mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, homemade, washable blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer blanketeers. If you are intereste in making blankets or donating supplies please call Rita (815) 740-7629
