Tanning Establishments Program & Body Art Program

Inspections of Tanning and Body Art Facilities

The Environmental Health Division carries out regular inspections of all tanning bed establishments and body art facilities in the County. Licensing and inspections of tanning and body art facilities reduces the risk to the public using these facilities.

The Environmental Health Division is the authorized agent for IDPH to conduct inspections of all tanning bed and body art facilities in the County of Will. The Environmental Health Division inspectors are certified and trained by IDPH to ensure that all tanning and body art facilities are operated in accordance with the state regulations as set forth in the Tanning Facility Permit Act, the Tanning Facilities Code and the Body Art Code.

For more information about opening a tanning facility or body art facility, contact IDPH at 217-785-2439.
