Screenings for Children as Well as Adults

Vision and hearing screenings are performed for school age children as well as adults.  The main goal of the vision and hearing program is early detection of vision and hearing problems in children.

 Program Services

  • The Vision and Hearing program has certified technicians that do vision and hearing screenings at schools as well as in preschool settings.
  • Once a month screenings are done in the office by appointment only.

 Vision screenings are not a substitute for a professional examination by an eye doctor. The Will County Health Department does not have an optometrist on staff.

 Fee for Services

  • There is no fee for screenings performed at the Will County Health Department.
  • There is a charge for screenings performed in the schools.

The following table displays the available vaccines and the cost. Pre-travel consultation is available for $50.00 for the first person; $25.00 for each additional person in the family.

Call 815-740-8143 for and appointment and information.  Daytime, early morning and late afternoon appointments are available.  Please schedule your appointment at least 4 weeks before your date of departure for maximum protection from vaccine-preventable diseases.
