Elizabeth Heriaud and Bryan Heriaud of Second Chance Cardiac Solutions recently visited the Will County Health Department for a CPR training class with Health Department employees. The employees were instructed in "The Adult Chain of Survival;" which includes early CPR to support circulation to the heart and brain, and early defibrillation to treat cardiac arrest. "This type of training is just one step below certification," Bryan Heriaud explained. "In recent years, this type of training has been stepped up from what it used to be."
Elizabeth Heriaud agreed. "It's called 'Friends and Family CPR' for a reason," she said; explaining that it's especially meant for use in the home or workplace, when someone has sudden cardiac arrest. "This is meant for any common person who's not in the medical field to be able to know what to do."
