MAPP's WEWILL WORKHEALTHY wellness initiative, spearheaded by more than 60 local organizations, looks to recognize Will County workplaces committed to improving employee health and well-being.


The WEWILL WorkHealthy Worksite Wellness Recognition Program is an innovative chronic disease reduction initiative implemented by Will County’s Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) Collaborative. The initiative, which commences in March, seeks to recognize worksites that actively promote employee health through six main areas of worksite wellness.


To be eligible for program recognition, businesses must complete a WEWILL WorkHealthy Program application detailing wellness activities that address: health promotion/education, opportunities for physical activity, behavioral health, environmental health, nutrition, and safety.


There are five levels of recognition that businesses can earn (honorable mention, bronze, silver, gold, and innovation award).


Gold recognition is reserved for businesses that can document a positive, measurable change in employee health, and complete a Gold Award essay describing a positive health outcome stemming from their wellness efforts.


Innovation Awards will be presented to businesses that highlight specific policies or health initiatives that do an exemplary job of promoting and supporting a healthy life for employees and their families. Additionally, an award (up to $250 in value) will be presented to Innovation Award recipients.

We are committed to helping businesses make their worksites healthier places for their employees.


What are the benefits of becoming a WEWILL WorkHealthy business? Worksites earning WEWILL WorkHealthy awards will be recognized for their achievements in the fall of 2017. Businesses with worksite wellness programs can document reduced absenteeism, lower health care costs, increased productivity, and increased employee morale.


All businesses with employees in Will County are eligible to apply. The application will be available from March 1, 2017 until May 31, 2017. There is no application fee, and the application deadline is Wednesday, May 31, 2017

MAPP, launched in Will County during August 2008, is an ongoing process designed to help communities develop and implement strategic plans that improve health and quality of life for county residents. One of MAPP’s goals is to decrease obesity and reduce chronic care illnesses in Will County. The Chronic Care Action Team was established to address this goal.
