Will County Director of Substance Abuse Initiatives Dr. Kathleen Burke spent the noon hour at the Will County Health Department Thursday, leading a discussion on the heroin/opioid addiction issue.  Burke talked about the benefits of Naloxone when it comes to treating overdose victims, and how it asks to reverse the effects of an overdose to hopefully save a life.  Burke also emphasized that when someone wakes up after being given Naloxone they are usually not happy, as they as most likely in the early stages of drug withdrawal.
