The Will County Health Department’s Community Health Center will be celebrating National Health Center Week this Friday, August 18th, with a 10 AM to 12 Noon Open House at their 1106 Neal Avenue Location in Joliet.
Attractions will include trucks from the Joliet Fire Department, State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, a representative from Congressman Bill Foster’s office, snow cones being handed out by Joliet Bank and Trust, and Walgreen’s Pharmacy.
In addition, educational displays will be provided by the Health Department’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, Lewis University students with breast cancer and tobacco awareness information, and Holt-Sonny Ride adoption services from Bolingbrook.
There will also be a variety of information from the Health Department’s Family Health Services staff. Their schedule will include talking about Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) initiatives such as “Know Where to Go” and “Rethink Your Drink,” the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, Diabetes Risk Assessments, All Our Kids Resource Guides, and Tobacco Quitline info in both English and Spanish.
