BETTER BIRTH OUTCOMES (BBO)

Promotes Health Pregnancies and Healthy Babies

Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program
Provides Nutritous Food and Nutrition Education
The WIC program provides nutritious food and nutrition education to all participants. Breastfeeding support is available to breastfeeding participants.
Program Eligibility
Categories of participants that are eligible for WIC include:
• Infants
• Children under age five
• Pregnant women (up to 6 weeks after delivery)
• Postpartum women (up to 6 months after delivery)
• Breastfeeding women (up to 1 year after delivery)
Applicants must live in Will County and meet income requirements that are set by the Federal Government. Certain applicants are eligible based on their participation in other programs such as Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Food Stamp eligibility. Nutrition and medical risk eligibility are determined at the time of the WIC appointment. Call the office in your area for an appointment or for more specific information. This service is provided free of charge for eligible participants
