Discounted Fees Based on Federally Established Guidelines

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Will County Community Health Center offers discounts based on federally established guidelines.  You may be eligible for a discount if you are not covered by an insurance plan. Services are not free.

Discounts are based upon family size and income.  Proof of income is required to be considered for a discount. Discount levels are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% on eligible services.  There is a minimum $25.00 fee due per visit, regardless of discount.  Discounts are re-evaluated each year.

In order to remain financially viable and competitive in their local marketplace and to help improve access to care patients may be required to be assessed for eligible entitlements (entitlements may include Medicaid, Illinois Healthy Women, IBCCP, or other public benefits).  Will County Community Health Center provides assistance in completing entitlement programs.

Most Laboratory services for self-pay patients ordered and processed at the clinic are eligible for discounts and are billed by the centers' contracted vendors.  Laboratory discounts are available to patients of the center only.

Volunteers Needed for Reach Out and Read

Volunteers Needed for Reach Out and Read

Reach Out and Read

The WCCHC is committed to making books part of a healthy childhood. The WCCHC is involved in the ROR National Pediatric Literacy Program. ROR is a program that promotes early literacy by bringing new books and advice about the importance of reading aloud into the pediatric exam room.

Our Doctors and nurses give new books to our pediatric patients at each well child visit from 6 months of age to 5 years, and accompany these books with developmentally appropriate advice to parents about reading aloud with their child.
Children also get a brand new, age and language appropriate book at every well child visit up to five years old.  By the time your child starts school, they will have developed a love for reading and have a small library of books to share with their family and friends.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteer and make a gift of your time.
  • Volunteer readers in pediatric literacy program (Reach Out and Read) can help transform clinic waiting rooms into a more pleasant place for children and parents, and help families learn the joys and techniques of reading aloud.
  • Greeter.  Greet patients, escort them to the specific area they need to be seen.  Help with patient satisfaction surveys.  Preferably Bilingual.
  • Watch children in waiting area if parents want to go in exam room alone.

  • Cannot accept court appointed community service.
  • Must protect patients rights to confidentially: HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act.
  • Background checks are mandatory
