Factors Determining Eligibilty

The consumer is presenting with a psychiatric crisis in an ED in the R1SCCS area: Silver Cross Hospitals in New Lenox and Homer Glenn, IL, Presence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet, IL, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in Bolingbrook, IL, Edward Plainfield ER in Plainfield, IL.

Documentation and Evaluation

The above criteria must be evaluated and documented as met prior to calling for an Evaluator for an EDA. The EDA will only occur after acute intoxication, metabolic syndromes, and acute medical issues are evaluated and resolved or stabilized. Behavioral or emotional problems present only during acute intoxication do not require EDA services and do not meet the standards for inclusion in this program.

We offer specialized court ordered assessment and treatment for sex offending and domestic violence. We also provide specialized treatment for those individuals who have already been found Unfit to Stand Trial or Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity

Community Mental Health Outpatient Services

The Adult Mental Health Program of the Will County Health Department Division of Behavioral Health  provides outpatient community mental health services for Will County residents who have symptoms of a serious mental illness, and in some cases with concurrent substance abuse, that are serious obstacles to community functioning.

The Adult Services staff work in collaboration with the persons served to develop treatment objectives and interventions that best match the client's strengths and resources to assist them in attaining their life goals.

Adult mental health outpatient services are provided at convenient locations in Joliet, Bolingbrook, and Monee. Services are provided Monday – Saturday from 8:30 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. (office hours vary from location to location ).

Services Provided by the Addictions Program

We offer specialized court ordered assessment and treatment for substance abuse. When the initial assessment indicates a need, we also recommend and provide additional assessments and treatments such as evaluation by a psychiatrist, psychological testing, medical follow-up, and medications.

Eligibility for Services

Who is Eligible

Services are available to all Will County residents at least 13 years of age. Non-residents may be eligible if they are currently under supervision of the Will County court (12th Judicial Circuit).

Services are available to all Will County residents at least 18 years of age (13 for sexual offending), who have already been convicted (adjudicated). We do not provide evaluation or treatment prior to conviction.
